Citizens for Sustainability
CCFS’s mission is to support existing effective programs and initiate new programs and legislation that ensure the long-term viability and well being of our community. CCFS supports the development of long-term sustainable methods as a basis for a vibrant and resilient future. Of primary importance to our community’s future are: conservation and protection of ranch lands, water, and other natural resources, local food production, alternative energies, and affordable housing. CCFS serves its members and the broader public through research, educational practices, and interaction with community members, agencies, and local governments. |
Forum for Leadership on Water (Canada)
The Forum for Leadership on Water (FLOW) is an independent group of water experts from across Canada that encourages government action to protect our critical fresh water resources. We believe that all levels of government must work together as part of a pan-Canadian strategy that effectively addresses current and emerging threats to fresh water security and incorporates the principles of good water governance, comprehensive policy and planning, and active community participation. |

Our water is under threat. Mining companies are actively exploring an ore body that extends throughout the Upper Great Lakes from Minnesota to Wisconsin to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and down into the mitten of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. These proposed sulfide and uranium mines differ from the oxide mining historically done in this region. |
