The mission of Food and Water Watch is to advocate for healthy, safe food and access to safe and affordable drinking water. They have been a strong coalition member. With their expertise, they have helped us to move the coalition forward. Food and Water Watch members are strong advocates responding to “Action Alerts” on the privatization and diversion issues facing the Great Lakes Basin. Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation
MCWC is a pioneer in Michigan leading the fight against privatization and diversion of water from the Great Lakes Basin. In a David and Goliath battle, MCWC took on Nestle and their legion of attorneys and won a victory. They were able to prove harm to property owners in Mecosta county, and the courts set limits on the amount of water Nestle can withdraw. Huge water rights issues remain, and MCWC is right there leading the charge! Michigan Citizens are lucky to have MCWC fighting for their water rights. www.savemiwater.org
